Common Noun:

* सामान्य नामापूर्वी a/an/the हे articles वापरतात.

* Adj. समोर the आल्यास ते सामान्य नाम असते.

e.g. The poor should be helped.

Proper Noun

* पाहिले अक्षर नेहमी कॅपिटल मध्ये लिहितात.

* Proper Noun अगोदर कधीच Article येत नाही.

* Proper Noun अगोदर Article आल्यास ते common Noun चे कार्य करते.

* एका proper noun ची तुलना दुसऱ्या proper noun शी करताना ज्याच्याशी तुलना होते त्यापुढे the वापरतात.

E.g. Mahatma Fule is the George Washington of India.

* एका common noun ची तुलना दुसऱ्या proper noun शी करताना ज्याच्याशी तुलना होते त्यापुढे a वापरतात.

e.g. He is a Newton of India.

Material Noun

* नेहमी एकवचनात वापरली जातात.

* Material Noun सोबत कधीही article वापरले जात नाही.

* Material Noun सोबत एखाद्या साधनांचा उपयोग केल्यास अशा साधनापूर्वी a/an वापरले जाते.

* सर्व uncountable noun असतात.

* Art आणि Science यांची नावे Material Noun असतात.

* ते common n., adj., verb  यांपासूनही तयार होतात.

2. State : poverty, youth, etc.

3. Action : laughter, theft, movement, etc.

नामाच्या वापरातील होणाऱ्या सामान्य चुका:

* एकवचनात वापरली जाणारी नामे: 

alphabet, bedding, clothing, furniture, information, luggage, machinery, offspring, poetry,scenery, physic.

* अनेकवचनी स्वरूपात असणारे परंतु एकवचनात वापरले जाणारे नाम: 

Mumps, Measles, billiards, draughts, gymnastics, news, summons, innings, wages,  mathematics, physics, etc.

*  Means हे जेंव्हा संपत्ती या अर्थाने वापरले जाते तेंव्हा ते अनेकवचनात असते.

* नेहमी अनेकवचनातच वापरली जाणारी नामे: shoes, socks, trousers, pyjamas, shorts,  scissors, tongs, bellows, spectacles, shears, alms, annals, ashes, assets, intestines, thanks, proceeds, spirits, tidings, savings, belongings, contents, credentials, nuptials.

* एकवचनी स्वरूपात असणारी परंतु अनेकवचनात वापरली जाणारी:

Cattle, gentry, poultry, clergy
